San Marcos Classes

Family Music for Toddlers (1 - 3 Years) 
Participate with your child each week in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening, and playing simple instruments. These weekly classes are action-filled for toddlers - full of energy, often on the move, always exploring and learning.  All activities are designed to bridge the natural connection between music and movement through two years of curriculum. Two sessions currently available, with six classes each.  Begins September 6th and 7th.

Preschool Music Class (Ages 3-5) 

Celebrate your child’s love of nature and growing independence through activities involving the four seasons.  Developed to build attention and self-expression, activities include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. This class nurtures your growing child’s ability to use language and participate in dramatic play within a musical context.  Fall and Winter semesters of this class are taught with curriculum unique to that semester.  We advise students to participate in at least two semesters of the Preschool Music Class before they move on to Music Makers.  One session currently available, with six classes.  Begins September 6th and 7th.

Children's Choir (Ages 7-12)

Children develop their sight reading, ear training, and vocal skills in this singing ensemble.  Songs learned will be performed at our Spring Concert.  Often our choir is invited to perform at various community events.  Past performances include Sea Port Village, Horton Plaza, Rancho Carlsbad, San Marcos Tree Lighting, Balboa Park December Nights, and Carlsbad Premium Outlets.  Space is limited.   Not available during Spring.  Will begin registering for Fall in August.

New this semester, our Children's Choir will be held at the San Elijo Recreation Center.  We are excited to introduce you to this beautiful location.  If you know people near this community that would benefit from this class, spread the word.  Early Bird pricing for the choir is available through January 12th.  Save $15 by registering before then.

Upcoming Holiday Performances in San Diego County

Sound System Kids Children's Choir, kids ages 7-9yo, will be performing a fun and exciting Holiday song set to bring in the Christmas spirit. The kids have worked hard, learning songs, instruments and choreography. They are so excited to be showcased at these events and to be a part of our wonderful community. Below are the dates and times of the upcoming Holiday events, which are full of activities and fun for the whole family. Definitely going to one is a must. Mark your calendars!

2015 FALL REGISTRATION

REGISTRATION FOR 2015 FALL CLASSES HAS BEGUN!!

New this semester is a BABY MUSIC CLASS!  We are really excited to offer this class as a service to the community.  Our hope is to share with parents the research on music and their child's development while participating in fun, musical activities that can be brought into the home.

Check out our choir classes.  We will have two age groups so we can focus on their developmental levels.  This is a great opportunity for children to develop their voices and their confidence!  Early Bird Pricing is available until August 20th.  Help us spread the word, so your friends don't miss out on the savings.

And, we will be teaching early childhood music classes at both the San Elijo Rec Center and the San Marcos Community Center.

Spring 2015 Performances!

Our Live Band!

Choristers this semester learned solfege, sight singing, rhythm language, three part harmony, and various vocal styles.  We enjoyed seeing their confidence grow!  Registration for Fall 2015 begins August 10th!
